Our History
In May 2006, after months of work and renovations, Metro Bicycle Centre finally opened to the public and operated out of its own building with over 580m2 of floor space under the name bikerepairs.com.au. This enabled us to provide you with the highest quality of service around Newtown, Marrickville, and the inner city of Sydney.
When we opened in 2006, bikerepairs.com.au was the largest dedicated bicycle repair workshop in the southern hemishpere. Since then, we have expanded our repair shop capabilities and expanded our showroom.
In September 2009, bikerepairs.com.au began its transitional name change to Metro Bicycle Centre. During September 2009, we expanded our showroom to include a wide range of bicycle and accessories in addition to the exisiting range we had.
